Eastern University, Sri Lanka (EUSL) being one of the national universities that is committed for excellence in higher education and research is stationed at Vantharumoolai in the Eastern Province which was called as the "Granary of the Island". As a university, it has been widespread into many avenues of imparting knowledge and competencies from undergraduates to postgraduates to produce innovative, creative and entrepreneurial excellence for the society in need.

 

Annual Research Session - Faculty of Science - 2025

Faculty of Science is organizing the Annual Research Session – 2025 (ARS- FOS - 2025) under the theme of “Empowering Society Through Scientific Research and Innovation” . The session mainly focuses on the dissemination of undergraduate research that addresses societal needs and environmental issues. The ARS-FOS-2025 provides an opportunity for undergraduates to disseminate their research findings to the societal stakeholders in a vibrant conference environment where academics, researchers and entrepreneurs participate.

ARS-FOS-2025 is organized by the Faculty of Science and we welcome presentations of research work by undergraduates, postgraduates and staff of EUSL covering a variety of disciplines as guided by the Tracks and the General Guidelines below.

 

SESSION TRACKS

  1. Biological Sciences

    Explores the study of living organisms, including their structure, function, growth, evolution, and interactions with the environment.

  2. Chemical Sciences

    Focuses on the composition, properties, and reactions of matter, aiming to understand substances and develop new materials.

  3. Mathematical Sciences

    Involves the study of mathematical theories, models, and computational techniques to solve scientific and practical problems.

  4. Computer Science

    Covers the theory, development, and application of software and hardware systems, including algorithms, programming, and data processing.

  5. Physical Science

    Deals with the study of non-living systems, including physics, astronomy, and earth sciences, to understand natural phenomena.

  6. Technology and Innovation

    Emphasizes the development and application of new technologies and innovative solutions to advance industry, society, and scientific knowledge
