Community Outreach Science Unit (COSU)
The Community Outreach Science Unit (COSU) is a dedicated unit established under the Faculty of Science, Eastern University, Sri Lanka. The Unit is committed to disseminating scientific knowledge and promoting community engagement through outreach programmes that support scientific awareness and social responsibility.
COSU conducts training programmes, workshops, and educational activities for school students, teachers, and parents with the aim of strengthening science education and fostering a culture of inquiry and innovation within the community.
With the approval of the Vice-Chancellor, COSU may receive donations and grants and generate income through its educational and training activities to support its objectives.
Objective:
To promote the dissemination of knowledge in Science and Technology and to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life of academics, undergraduates, school teachers, students, professionals, and the wider regional community through collaboration and partnership with national and international universities and organizations.
